Eagle Scout Receives Good citizenship citation

On Sunday, 28 January, South Brunswick High School Student Patrick Boldt was presented the
American Legion Good Citizenship Citation by St. James Post 543 Commander Phillip McGhee
and Vice Commander Chuck Blackburn during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony,
elevating Patrick to the rank of Eagle Scout. This Legion Award recognizes all the time, hard
work, and dedication it took to reach this greatest achievement in scouting. Patrick was also a
Post 543 delegate to the Tar Heel Boys state program as well as a member of the Post 543
Baseball Team. During the ceremony Post 543 Commander McGhee, himself an Eagle Scout
from 1969, congratulated Patrick on his accomplishments and stressed that this rank of Eagle
Scout was also about Patrick’s outstanding potential and that he had the capability to do great
things both for his community and the nation in the future. District 19 Representative Charles
W. Miller was also on hand to congratulate and celebrate Patrick’s induction as an Eagle Scout.
Over 100 family, friends, and fellow scouts, along with Patrick’s 2 brothers who are also Eagle
Scouts, attended the ceremony which was held at Sacred Heart Church in Southport.
